It was raining most of the three days we were there. It is a charming place if you want to get away from the shiny sleek city hotels. As it was a bit cold the fires in the lounge rooms were welcome. Front office staff were helpful and …
Week break away from home with our toddler. Rates were excellent and included credit at the restaurant and the bar. Staff were fantastic and room was very comfortable. Overall a great break for our family.
An historic guest house that has been preserved but extended and updated over the years. Offering a variety of room types and prices. Rooms are clean and pleasant. The building is surrounded by gardens and a golf course. The restaurant has a small but professional menu of good quality and well presented dishes. The breakfast was sufficient but not really the extent or quality you would expect of an up-market property. There are many semi private sitting areas with open (gas) fireplaces and a bar to sit and relax. Plenty of parking close to the hotel building. Housekeeping was a little lacking with several of the bathroom amenities empty and the bed not made (although the room was "serviced"). Located on the outskirts of Bowral, about a 5 minutes drive away. Overall a pleasant stay in a relaxed and historic setting.
Grounds were really beautiful and well kept. Food from the restaurant was consistently great. Rooms were small though and small spiders came through the window and into my suitcase. No room to put toiletries in the bathroom. Comfy bed and pillows though. Split system air con did the job.
Had to carry suitcase up many stairs.
What an awesome stay.
It was my intention to stay 1 night, a week later, I left this wonderland.
It is a delightful old world building, and the grounds are the best to take in a stroll very early morning or early evening with a glass in hand.
I occasionally read other reviews and note that others mention the size of the rooms as being small.
The Morton Wing has smaller rooms with a small bathroom. These are priced accordingly and still very comfortable.
Please keep that in mind when booking.
However, for me, this place is about service. Tish at reception on arrival is a delightful treasure of a person and so eager to assist. Giving me a great deal of help throughout the week.
James, the manager (as I understood), will do absolutely anything to assist, even when you may be a very painful guest. As I did witness.
Great work James.
Without a doubt, James's greatest strength or let's say, asset, is the team he has around him. It's truly great to see a young man in that of Harrison really enjoying the work he does and being proud of his environment.
Now, let's lift this to another level. Samantha (Sam), add all of the above comments and add 5 stars.
Her professionalism, attention to detail, and her ability to keep a full/busy dining completely calm is and was wonderful to experience..
Not only thanks, but I really appreciate what you guys do.
Thanks for a fabulous stay.
Look forward to my next stay.
1. The rooms are tiny and very old - no room to put suitcase or toiletries. When I sit on the toilet, my knees reach the wall and I'm only 5'4. The place definitely felt very vintage!
2. Spiderwebs in the room and the window doesn't shut properly
3. When reported this to the receptionist, she said "all rooms are like that”
4. The receptionist kept telling me to book directly with her in the future instead of Accor. What??!!
The hotel manager was very polite and helpful, the lounge area was nice and cozy, and the garden and golf course were beautiful, food at the restaurant was great!
Amazing venue, great staff and food. If you love your golfing trips with friends, this is the place. Highly recommended
A classic older property. Smaller rooms but we had access to a shared verahdah, great to relax, have a drink. The room is well set up for it's size. Plenty of power.
